Speech pathology services

Assessment, therapy and practical support for communication — working together with families, schools and other professionals.

Assessment and therapy

  • Speech and language assessment

A detailed look at speech sounds, understanding and use of language, and how communication is going day to day — so goals are clear and meaningful.

  • Speech and language intervention

Therapy sessions focused on agreed goals, using activities that suit the person’s age, interests and routines.

  • Literacy support

Work on the language skills that support reading and spelling, such as sound awareness, vocabulary and understanding text.

  • Fluency (stuttering)

Support for children and adults who stutter, including strategies and education for families.

  • Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)

Helping people communicate with tools such as picture systems, key word signing or speech-generating devices, and helping families and schools use them.

  • Social communication

Support with conversation, play, understanding others and navigating everyday social situations.

Working with families and schools

  • Parent coaching

Practical, everyday strategies for parents and carers, so communication practice fits naturally into home life.

  • School observations

Seeing how communication is going in the classroom or playground, with the school’s agreement.

  • Liaison with families, schools and other professionals

Sharing information and strategies (with your consent) with teachers, early childhood educators, GPs and other therapists.

  • Case conferences

Taking part in team meetings about a person’s support, so everyone is working towards the same goals.

Reports, preparation and telehealth

  • Reports

Written assessment and progress reports — for example for school, funding reviews or other professionals.

  • Participant-specific preparation and documentation

For NDIS participants this is billed as “Participant-specific non-face-to-face clinical support”, only for the actual time spent and only when it relates directly to that participant. General administration is never charged.

  • Telehealth

Sessions by video call, when telehealth suits the person and their goals.
